THE FIRST 90 DAYS MATTER

Start college
with a team.

This is a simple roadmap for high-school seniors, new freshmen, transfers, and returning students. You do not need to do it perfectly.

BEFORE CLASSES

Know your numbers.

  • Finish FAFSA and confirm your award.
  • Know the bill due date and remaining balance.
  • Save financial-aid, housing, advising, and counseling contacts.
  • Ask about work-study, food support, and emergency funds before an emergency happens.

WEEKS 1–3

Create your people plan.

  • Meet an academic advisor.
  • Introduce yourself to at least one professor.
  • Find tutoring, library, and writing-center hours.
  • Join one community: EFF, an organization, faith group, or campus program.

WEEKS 4–8

Protect your enrollment.

  • Check grades before problems become final.
  • Use office hours or tutoring early.
  • Review your budget and upcoming charges.
  • Tell someone if you are considering withdrawing or stopping out.

EACH SEMESTER

Choose the next right move.

  • Register early.
  • Renew financial aid and scholarships.
  • Document service, leadership, and work.
  • Take one career step: resume, mentor, internship, or job shadow.
